Looking for a sustainable fashion brand that wants to make a statement? Look no further. Using organic and recycled materials, Crazies and Weirdos aims to bring attention and awareness to the crisis that is human-caused animal suffering.
Every 3 months, they launch a new campaign, focusing on a different animal that is in need of advocacy. A portion of proceeds from each campaign are donated to various organizations which help campaign for the end of speciesism. The company also publishes a summary of the specific cause and goals of the organization which received donations.
"One small company. One loud message. One powerful mission. "
The company was founded by Dominick Thompson, a vegan athlete and activist for animal rights. His passion for helping end the animal holocaust and creating a world of sustainability and cross-species equality is profound. One only needs to read a few of his posts on Instagram to gain insight into what true empathy, compassion, and action look like. He is a leading voice in the campaign to redefine masculinity and help shape a brighter tomorrow, where strength is encapsulated by the courage of those who stand up against injustice.
Taken from a recent Instagram post:
"'Basics' don’t change the world. Those who think outside of the box with their “crazy” and “weird” ideas do. Those women and men are the future. Those women and men are my type of clique. Those women and men are the real legends. Yeah, legends in the making indeed. I #salute you #craziesandweirdos changing the world through your activism, creativity and passions. The @craziesandweirdos new organic cotton and bamboo line is dedicated to you."
It is clear that Domz is not willing to wait until the world changes for the better. In fact, he would rather be in the front lines, challenging the accepted norms of society and encouraging all those brave enough to do so as well.
The crazies and the weirdos have always been the shapers of change, pushing consciousness and community to evolve, well before "the times" were ready.
